We're looking for a new caretaker...

The Upshur County Commission and Youth Camp Board is accepting applications for the immediate position of a full-time caretaker of the Youth Camp Facility located in Selbyville.  This individual is responsible for the scheduling and oversight of camps, intaking revenue and making deposits, promoting use of the property, upkeep of buildings and grounds, operations of dining facilities, effective and suitable communication and interaction with adult and children campers, and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be capable of working independently and preference will be given to applicants with experience in carpentry, general maintenance/repair, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and groundskeeping. 

 Individuals may obtain an application online at https://www.upshurcounty.org,  from the Office of the Upshur County Commission located at the Upshur County Administrative Annex during the normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. or the Upshur County Youth Camp website https://upshurcountyyouthcamp.com/ .  Applications received at one of the following addresses by August 26, 2026 will be reviewed and considered. After this date, applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled.  

• This position involves strenuous physical activity

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Caretaker is required to reside on the property in the provided residence year-round.
